Kalmar County offers a wide range of educational opportunities—whether you're looking to pursue higher education or start with a foundational program.

Linnaeus University, with campuses in Kalmar and Växjö, offers over 150 degree programs and 1,300 single-subject courses in fields such as arts and humanities, health and food sciences, social sciences, natural sciences, technology, and economics. The university also provides various commissioned education programs, including principal training and police education.

Linnaeus University is known for its high-quality research, both nationally and internationally, particularly in areas such as ecology, evolution, discrimination, integration, postcolonialism, intermediality, biosciences, and big data.

In addition, the region offers vocational education (YH), people folk high schools, and municipal adult education throughout the county.
